What do clients ask about post-construction cleaning?

Short answers to the questions we hear most. For anything else, give us a call.

How long after construction ends should the final cleaning happen?

Book the final cleaning after all trades are finished, including paint touch-ups, and before furniture and rugs arrive. Fine dust keeps settling for a day or two after work stops, so a short wait improves the result.

If anyone still needs to return for punch-list items, schedule a quick touch-up after their visit. Running the air conditioning with a fresh filter during this time also helps capture airborne dust. Replace the filter again after the final cleaning.

What should contractors or homeowners prepare before the cleaning team arrives?

Remove leftover materials, tools, and large debris, and make sure power, water, and lighting are on. The cleaning team can then focus on detail work.

  • Large debris, scraps, and packaging hauled away
  • Water, power, and air conditioning running
  • Protective film left on or removed as you prefer, so we know which to take off
  • A list of new finishes, such as stone, specialty tile, or lacquer cabinets
  • Access instructions and a contact on site

Share the handover date so the cleaning fits your timeline.

Is post-construction cleaning different from a regular deep cleaning?

Yes. Construction leaves very fine dust, adhesive, paint specks, and labels that call for a different process than everyday cleaning. Post-construction cleaning uses a top-to-bottom process with HEPA vacuums and microfiber to capture dust instead of moving it around.

It also includes tasks that rarely appear in a deep cleaning: removing stickers and residue from new fixtures and windows, cleaning inside new cabinets and drawers, wiping every ledge and vent, and detailing tracks and frames. The goal is a space ready for its first day of use.

Do you clean renovated vacation rentals and units before they go back on the market?

Yes. After a renovation, we clean the unit to a guest-ready or lease-ready standard, so it can go back into service right away.

For short-term rentals, that includes a full post-construction cleaning followed by staging to match the listing photos, linens, and restocking when included. For long-term rentals, we follow the make-ready checklist with completion photos for the owner or property manager. Coordinating the cleaning with your relisting date helps reduce the time the unit sits empty.

When should post-construction cleaning happen?

Right after the trades finish and before move-in or furniture delivery. We can also schedule a final touch-up before handover.
